Drum-Making Workshop with Misty Dawn

Come and make your own sacred drum with artist Misty Dawn of Magickal Thangz!
She is offering 4 sizes and 2 hides:
10 inch drums (a great first drum for children, or those who travel a lot)
12 inch drums (perfect travel size with more reverberation)
15 inch drums (great for longer periods of drumming for most people)
18 inch drums (short periods of drumming, or stronger arms)
The 2 hides she is offering for this class are deer and elk.
Deer are associated with the heart chakra. It is the easiest hide to work with. They are nearly white in color, and have a great reverberation. However, they are finicky about damp weather. (Misty will teach you a few tricks to help with this).
Elk are associated with the solar plexus chakra. These hides can vary in color from a light yellowish coloring, to a milk chocolate. The tone is a bit lower than deer, and very melodic. These drums usually take longer to dry after making than any other hide, but it is well worth the wait.
Prices for this class are based on the size of drum you wish to create, as follows:
10 inch $80
12 inch $135
15 inch $190
18 inch $250
You will be provided with all of the materials to create your drum, drum care instructions, cleansing herbs, and a drum beater. If there are gems, herbs, or special small items you wish to add into the handle please bring them at the time of class.
Payments are due 2 weeks before class, this allows enough time to purchase all of your supplies. You will be invoiced directly through PayPal after you register and answer the questions in the link below.
If you register and something comes up at the last minute making you unable to attend, Misty will schedule a personal one-on-one session with you to make your drum.
Misty Dawn has been making drums for 6 years; she learned the practice from Michelle at Gaia's Workshop, with additional training and guidance from family friends on the reservation in Nevada. Misty’s entire life has been dedicated to animals and nature; making drums is her way of bringing life back to an animal that has departed, and a way to honor the animal for its sacrifice. All of her drum supplies are purchased from a local reservation.
